Are you fed up with the traffic around town? It can take 20 minutes to travel the length of Edgewater Drive if you go during rush hour. Well, Jeff Noonan has the answer to your traffic prayers: The Lopifit.
The Lopifit, a Dutch invention, is a treadmill-engaged, motor-assisted bike that allows you to exercise while getting from point A to point B. A sensor registers the movement of the treadmill, which will activate the motor and continue as long as you keep walking.
The bike has a 42-mile range on a single charge of the rechargeable battery. Its top speed is 15 mph. Available accessories include a basket, saddlebags and a trailer for children, pets or groceries.
Located at 2300 Edgewater Drive (the back of Gallery on the Edge), owner Jeff Noonan says the store is currently in a soft opening and people can schedule demo rides and or purchase existing stock.
Noonan says there are only about 120 Lopifit bikes in the United States at this time. The store is planning a grand opening in mid to late March.
