Form•Function•Form, a company that hand-makes goods out of premium leather, has a new retail space at 2810 Edgewater Drive. Shawn Reed, owner and designer, said he makes wallets, watches, watchbands, clutches and other small leather goods.
Technically speaking, Form•Function•Form has been open since 2012 when Reed operated out of his College Park home. He expanded 2 1/2 years later to an industrial space located near College Park Yoga.
“We were only online previously, with scheduled ‘walk-in’ hours for pick-up of orders,” said Reed. “So having a full retail space has made us have to produce inventory instead of only making to order.” Reed is still building that inventory, and he opened his retail doors April 1.
Where does the name of the business come from?
Reed said, “We believe that beauty and usability are mutually reinforcing, so form follows function follows form.”
When asked what he would like the residents of College Park to know about him, Reed replied, “I love Edgewater Drive, and it’s really exciting to bring our unique products to the area. My wife Sarah, who was born and raised in College Park, and I look forward to meeting more of our neighbors as a part of this new retail adventure.”
