The Orlando Babe Ruth League 12-year-old All-Star Storm baseball team represented College Park as they won the district tournament — for the third consecutive year — and went on to repeat as state champions. This team continues to break records for the College Park Orlando Babe Ruth League.
During the state championship, the Storm came from behind twice, playing 20 innings in less than 24 hours in the brutal Ocala heat. The team then headed to North Carolina to compete in the regional tournament.
“The coaches are very proud of these kids who have played together for over five years. It’s difficult to win a State Championship, especially in the state of Florida. … Our success has been a direct reflection of the hard work and dedication these kids put into the game on a daily basis,” manager Eric Seeber said.
The team will be heading to Cooperstown, New York, to play in the Field of Dreams Tournament August 11. The Storm is the first College Park team to receive a bid to participate at this level.
The Storm would like to thank all the College Park individuals and businesses who have supported them.
