It’s been a busy summer for College Park Main Street, and fall is the busiest time of year in the district. If you are a small business owner or operator in College Park, here are some things to remember:
You can apply to College Park Main Street for a Business Façade Grant to help update and freshen your curb appeal. Examples of projects that can improve the attractiveness of your business’s exterior along Edgewater Drive include a new awning, front door, paint, landscaping, etc. Go to collegeparkmainstreet.com/businessfacadegrant to learn more.
There will be a Coffee, Connect and Learn event September 12 at 8:00 a.m. at Infusion Tea (1600 Edgwater Dr.). This event (held every other month) helps small business owners and operators share and learn more to help their businesses. Topics range from marketing to social media skills to security and other areas of interest. This month’s event will feature Dan Cockerell, vice president of Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, speaking on customer service. The event is free and open to members and nonmembers of College Park Main Street. To learn more and RSVP, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
September 14, The College Park Main Street is hosting its quarterly Business Networking Social at North Quarter Tavern (861 N. Orange Ave.) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. This is an opportunity for small business owners and operators in College Park to gather and enjoy networking on a social level outside of work. To learn more and RSVP, contact email@example.com.
Also mark your calendar for three huge, signature events taking place this fall:
—College Park JazzFest, Saturday, November 4, 6:00 – 11:00 p.m.
—Small Business Saturday, November 25, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
—Holiday on the Drive, Thursday, December 7, 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.
We are looking for volunteers for these events. If you have time, energy, enthusiasm and a desire to give back to the College Park community, please volunteer for one — or all — of these events! Contact Andrea Kudlacz at firstname.lastname@example.org.
