College Park Paper’s Holly Hatcher is reporting the former Gemaire Distributing Inc. building, owned by Dr. Phillips Charities at the northeast corner of N. Orange Blossom Trail and Princeton Street, was recently demolished as part of the initial land planning phase for The Packing District, the multi-use development project announced in December by Dr. Phillips Charities that will transform that region of College Park. The land was the original site of the Dr. Phillips juice canning plant built in the 1930s.
