Business Spotlight: Dr. Catherine King

If you are looking for a dentist, check out Dr. Catherine King on Edgewater Drive.

Dr. King has an impressive list of credentials: B.S. degree in biology from Florida State, doctorate degree in dental surgery from New York University, and service in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps. On top of her education and experience, Dr. King is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, The Florida Dental Association, and Dental Society of Greater Orlando; she has a Fellowship at International Congress of Oral Implantology.

Impressive indeed.

After working as a Navy dentist of three years, Dr. King practiced elsewhere on Edgewater Drive for seven years. She opened her own practice in March 1995 in the current location at 2531 Edgewater Drive.

King’s practice does everything from implants to crowns to root canals and orthodontics. “We are a one-stop shop,” said King. Her best dental tip: rinse with or drink water after eating something sugary.

An interest in oral health clearly runs in the family. Dr. King’s oldest daughter is set to graduate from dental school this year and is planning on joining her mother at the practice. Another daughter will start dental school this fall. King’s third child, a son, has no interest in cavities or flossing techniques and instead works in real estate in the Orlando area. Dr. King’s husband, Sam King, is an attorney and has an office on Edgewater Drive.

“People are amazing,” said Dr. King when asked why she likes having her practice in College Park. “It attracts a certain type of person. Friendly,” said Dr. King. She also said College Park feels like a “hometown.”

Another perk of having King’s business in College Park: riding her bike to work every day.
