Cooking Up Some Fun with Harmoni Artesian Market
Recently, the Lake Silver Elementary 2nd graders had the chance to do some slow cooking with Harmoni Artesian Market, one of the Partners In Education. As part of the 2nd grade Math Magnet Curriculum, students study math through the growing of an herb garden. This experience let the students take the herbs they had grown, and dried to Harmoni Market, where Chefs David Nuss and Patty Canedo used them to make delicious flatbread pizzas for the students. The days were viewed as a huge success!  The students were excited to listen, learn and dive in to the teamwork of building flatbreads and learning more about the food.  The children screamed, “This is the best ‘pizza’ we have ever had,” and “This is delicious!”A big “Thank You” to Harmoni Market; General Manager J. Chaney, the Chefs, and Jamie Niemann for your participation with our school. The Lake Silver 2nd graders had a fun and educational time cooking with you.
